Museum of the Battle and its collection

Museum of the Battle
Source

The Museum of the Battle of Vittorio Veneto, located in Ceneda within the municipality of Vittorio Veneto, was established in 1938. It was born out of the generous donation by Luigi Marson, a soldier of the 2nd Grenadiers of Sardinia, who collected a vast array of objects, relics, and documents from the battlefields and surrounding territories. These collections date back to the day after October 30, 1918, marking the end of the Great War, a long and devastating global conflict.

Museum Layout and Thematic Areas

In 2012, the museum underwent a significant restoration and reorganization of its layout, while still preserving its historical essence in one section. The expansive exhibition area within the building is divided into three major thematic areas, each located on a different floor. The ground floor is dedicated to 'life in the trench', the first floor to 'life during the occupation' and 'the Marson house armory', and the second floor to 'from the battle to the myth'.
