The site is dedicated to preserving the home that was built in 1837 by Nathan Boone, who was the youngest child of the famous frontiersman, Daniel Boone. This historic home provides a glimpse into the life and times of the Boone family.
The Nathan Boone House is a unique architectural piece, being a 1 + 1 ⁄ 2 -story "classic" saddle-bag pioneer log house. It is constructed of hand-hewn oak log walls that rest on a stone foundation, showcasing the craftsmanship of the era.
Established in 1991, the historic site offers visitors an interpretive trail and guided tours of the home and cemetery. These features provide a comprehensive understanding of the site's historical significance and the Boone family's life.
