The National Museum in Warsaw (Muzeum Narodowe w Warszawie, MNW) is a national museum in Warsaw. It is one of the largest museums in Poland and the largest in Warsaw. The National Museum holds a collection of 11,000 pieces of ancient art (Egyptian, Greek and Roman), a gallery of Polish painting since the 16th century and a collection of foreign painting (Italian, French, Flemish, Dutch, German and Russian) including paintings from the private collection of Adolf Hitler. Furthermore, the National Museum in Warsaw contains a numismatic collections, a gallery of applied arts and a department of oriental art with around 5,000 pieces.
