The Norsk Tryllemuseum, or Norwegian Magic Museum, is one of the smallest museums in Norway, with a specific focus on the country's tradition of magic. This unique museum offers a deep dive into the history and art of magic in Norway, making it a fascinating destination for those interested in the world of illusion and enchantment.
The purpose of the Norwegian Magic Museum is to document the history of Norwegian magicians. This is achieved by collecting and registering a wide range of items, including posters, advertising materials, photos, newspaper reviews, programs, magic props, and costumes. These items provide a comprehensive overview of the evolution of magic in Norway, offering visitors a unique insight into this fascinating aspect of Norwegian culture.
In September 2017, the Norwegian Magic Museum had to vacate its premises due to the building being sold and scheduled for renovation. The museum's collection was packed up and stored, and in the summer of 2021, it was moved to Våle in Vestfold, to the 'Magic Farm' of magician Guilherme Curtys. Currently, a resource group is working towards reopening the museum in the summer of 2022.
