Location and Architecture of the Museum

The museum is housed in the Rรธdbygget, a building designed by Christian Heinrich Grosch. This building, constructed in 1855, holds the distinction of being the first Neo-Gothic structure in Trondheim.

Historical Significance of the Building

The building that now houses the museum was originally a school for the deaf, known as Throndhjems Dรธvstummeinstitut and later as Trondheim offentlige skole for dรธve. This institution was founded by Andreas Christian Mรธller, adding a layer of historical significance to the site.
