Oak Alley Plantation is a historic site located in the community of Vacherie, in Saint James Parish, Louisiana. It is situated on the west bank of the Mississippi River. This plantation is known for its rich history and its unique location, offering visitors a glimpse into the past.

The Stewarts were the last private owners of the Oak Alley Plantation. When Josephine Stewart passed away in 1972, she left the house to the Oak Alley Foundation. Shortly after, the plantation was opened to the public, allowing visitors to explore its history and beauty.
The main building of the Oak Alley Plantation is made in a neoclassical style, with a square plan. It is surrounded on all four sides by 28 Doric columns, corresponding to the 28 oaks of the main avenue. The estate also includes an old car garage, a blacksmith's shop, and the Stewart's cemetery, adding to the historical charm of the site.
