Oelchenshammer
Source

The Oelchenshammer is a unique historical site located near Bickenbach in the Oberbergischer Kreis. It is one of the last remaining water-powered forges in the Rhineland, offering visitors a glimpse into the region's industrial past. The forge, along with the blacksmith's house, is now an external site of the LVR Industrial Museum Kraftwerk Ermen & Engels in Engelskirchen.

Visiting the Oelchenshammer

The Oelchenshammer is open to the public from April to October on Sundays and by special arrangement. Visitors have the opportunity to witness public forging demonstrations every second Sunday. Additionally, guided tours are offered every fourth Sunday, providing a more in-depth understanding of the site and its historical significance.
