Openluchtmuseum De Spitkeet illustrates on a site of more than four hectares how people lived on the Frisian and Groningen heath in the period from 1850 to 1950. In that period people were very poor and life was difficult. The museum displays various types of properties and conditions of that time. In addition, various activities are organized and walking and cycling routes are offered.
