Palazzo Bonaguro is a historic building that dates back to the 15th century. It is situated near the Old Bridge in the Angarano district of Bassano del Grappa, in the province of Vicenza in Veneto. This building is one of the four locations of the civic museums of Bassano, making it a significant cultural site in the region.
The ancient owners of Palazzo Bonaguro constructed a scenic garden that added to the grandeur of the property. This garden was filled with allegorical statues, perspective paths, and fountains, reflecting the tastes of the sixteenth century. The property was situated in lands that were cultivated with vineyards and wheat, elements that are well represented in the statues.
Since 1969, Palazzo Bonaguro has been owned by the Municipality of Bassano and is used for exhibitions and other cultural events. The palace's interior is imposing and symmetrical, featuring large overlapping central halls connected by stairs and surrounded by circuits of rooms. The basement houses cellars with brick vaults, adding to the architectural interest of the building.
