The Palazzo della Magnifica Comunita di Fiemme, also known as Palazzo degli Scari, is a historic building located in Cavalese, Trento. It was the summer residence of the Prince-Bishops of Trento and has been the headquarters of the Magnifica Comunita di Fiemme since 1850. The palace was built as a temporary residence for the vicar of the Prince-Bishop of Trento, who visited the Val di Fiemme twice a year to administer justice, as established by the Gebardini pacts of July 14, 1111.
The palace now houses a museum and art gallery. The Renaissance residence, reopened to the public on July 5, 2012, now houses a collection of great works of art, including paintings by the major representatives of the Fiemme School of Painting, arranged chronologically from the beginning of the 17th century to the 19th century. The 19th-century prisons with their engravings tell the lives, memories, and sentences of the prisoners of the time.
