The transformation of Parken Zoo began in 1950 when the first animals were introduced to the park. This marked the beginning of the zoo as we know it today. By 1956, the zoo was home to about 200 animals of various species, including elephants. This diversity of species offers visitors a unique opportunity to observe and learn about a wide range of animals in one place.
Parken Zoo is not just a place for entertainment, but also plays a significant role in animal conservation. The zoo participates in the conservation programs of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA), with a particular focus on the breeding of endangered species. This commitment to conservation provides visitors with the opportunity to learn about and contribute to the preservation of various species.
