The Pennsylvania House, a historic inn and tavern, is located in western Springfield, Ohio. This three-story brick Federal structure was built around 1822 and is situated along the original National Road. It is also near the old road that connects Springfield with Dayton, Ohio. This location played a significant role in the early 19th century as a major transportation artery for those heading west or to Cincinnati.

Current Role as a Museum

Today, the Pennsylvania House serves as a history museum with a focus on the National Road. It offers visitors a glimpse into the past and the significant role this location played in the early transportation and settlement of the United States.
