Source

The Pensacola Light, located at Pensacola Bay in Florida, is a lighthouse that has a rich history. It is the third version of what was originally a lightship named the Aurora Borealis. Despite its evolution over the years, the Pensacola Light continues to serve as an aid to navigation, a testament to its enduring relevance and functionality.

Visiting the Pensacola Light

Since 2009, the Pensacola Light has been open to the public for tours on a limited basis, and from early 2011, it has been open 7 days a week. The Pensacola Lighthouse Association is responsible for the maintenance and tour operations. Adjacent to the lighthouse tower, the 1869 keeper's quarters now serve as a museum and gift shop, also managed by the Pensacola Lighthouse Association.
