It offers a unique opportunity for visitors to engage with science in a hands-on and interactive way. The center is designed to be accessible and engaging for all ages, making it a great destination for families, school groups, or anyone with a curiosity about the world around them.

Opening and Design of Phæno Science Center

Phæno Science Center opened its doors to the public on November 24, 2005. It houses over 250 interactive exhibits, all enclosed within a remarkable concrete structure. The building was designed by the renowned architect Zaha Hadid, in collaboration with her German associate, Mayer Bährle architects, and Adams Kara Taylor. The design of the building is as much a part of the experience as the exhibits themselves, adding an extra layer of intrigue for visitors.

Connection to Autostadt

The Phæno Science Center is uniquely designed to stand on concrete stilts. This design allows visitors to the nearby Autostadt to pass through without interfering with the workings of the building. Additionally, Phæno is connected to the Autostadt by a metal bridge, which can be accessed by escalators and stairs on either side. This connection provides an easy and convenient way for visitors to explore both attractions during their visit.
