Piddington Roman Villa is a significant historical site located in Piddington, Northamptonshire. The Piddington Roman Villa Museum showcases a variety of artifacts discovered during the extensive excavation of the Piddington Villa, which has been ongoing for over 25 years. These finds provide a fascinating insight into the history and culture of the Roman era.
In addition to housing significant archaeological material, the museum offers displays that interpret 500 years of life at the settlement. These include a detailed model of the villa as it would have appeared in the later 2nd century, a full-sized mannequin of a possible owner of the villa named Tiberius Claudius Severus, complete with an audio presentation, and a full-scale reconstruction of sections of a typical roof and hypocaust, the Roman heating system.
