Renishaw Hall & Gardens has 2 ratings.

  • Apollo's Insights AI-Generated

Renishaw Hall & Gardens offers visitors a pleasant blend of history, art, and nature. The stately home, which has been in the Sitwell family for centuries, provides an interesting glimpse into English aristocratic life. The interior of the hall features period furnishings and an impressive collection of family portraits and artifacts.

The gardens are a highlight for many visitors. The formal Italianate gardens, designed in the late 19th century, are well-maintained and beautiful throughout the seasons. The rose garden, in particular, receives much praise for its fragrance and variety. The woodland areas and lake add to the scenic beauty of the grounds.

Many visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and the opportunity to explore at their own pace. The staff are generally described as friendly and knowledgeable, enhancing the experience with their insights into the property's history.

The on-site café receives positive reviews for its selection of light meals and cakes, with many enjoying the option to have tea on the terrace overlooking the gardens.

Some visitors note that parts of the hall are not open to the public, which can be disappointing. Additionally, a few mention that the pricing can be considered a bit high, especially if not all areas are accessible.

Overall, Renishaw Hall & Gardens is well-regarded for its beautiful setting, historical significance, and well-kept gardens, making it a worthwhile destination for those interested in English heritage and horticulture.

Renishaw Hall is owned by the Sitwell Estate. This family claim to be a lover and protector of countryside and wildlife. But yet are selling off there land to developers!

They sold Barlborough village down the river and are now trying to do the same to a village called Clowne in Derbyshire. 1800 house development, retirement village, hotel with industrial units. All on farming, greenbelt, open countryside, near an ancient woodland that lots of wildlife live. Lots of rare species.

They shouldn't been given a penny by the public! All they care about is £££. Not community, not countryside, Not wildlife, only ££££
