The Ribble Steam Railway, located in Lancashire, United Kingdom, is a preserved standard gauge railway that was opened to the public on 17 September 2005. The railway runs along the scenic Preston Docks, offering visitors a unique opportunity to experience a piece of the country's railway history.

Passenger Services at Ribble Steam Railway

In addition to its museum exhibits, the Ribble Steam Railway also operates passenger services to Strand Road Crossing and back from its own station, Preston Riverside. Trains run on an hourly basis and typically consist of two or more Mark 1 coaches, powered by either a small steam engine or a diesel engine. This provides visitors with an authentic railway experience.

Locomotive Collection at Ribble Steam Railway

The Ribble Steam Railway boasts one of the largest collections of locomotives in the United Kingdom, with a total of 61 locomotives. This includes one on loan from the National Railway Museum and one from the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Trust. Currently, 55 of these locomotives are on site, providing a comprehensive look at the evolution of railway technology.
