The RömerWelt museum at caput limitis, located in the Arienheller district of the municipality of Rheinbrohl, is a significant historical site. Opened on August 23, 2008, it serves as the Limes information center of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The museum provides a wealth of information about the Roman Empire's border system, known as the Limes, making it a valuable destination for those interested in Roman history.
The RömerWelt museum houses a large exhibition room filled with numerous exhibits and informative boards. These displays provide insights into the lives of the Romans and Germans at the outer border of the Roman Empire. Visitors can also see replicas of a Roman pile driver and a Roman construction crane, offering a glimpse into the engineering prowess of the Romans.
The RömerWelt museum and its outdoor area are barrier-free, making it accessible to all visitors. Starting at the museum is the RömerWeltWeg, a circular hiking trail approximately 9 km long. This trail runs along the Upper Germanic Limes, leading to the Limes educational trail located at the site of the watchtower Wp 1/8. This offers a unique opportunity for visitors to explore the historical landscape on foot.
