The Römermuseum Pachten, also known as Museum Pachten, is located in a historic farmhouse on Fischerstraße, one of the oldest streets in the Dillingen district of Pachten, Saarland, Germany. This unique setting provides a charming backdrop for the museum's extensive collection of artifacts and exhibits.
Established in 1990, the Römermuseum Pachten showcases a variety of displays related to the Gallo-Roman period in the Roman settlement of Contiomagus. In addition to this, the museum also houses artifacts dating back to the Stone Age, Bronze Age, Iron Age, and the era of the Celts, offering a comprehensive view of the region's rich history.
The Römermuseum Pachten also features a geological collection, which includes fossils and minerals from the surrounding area. Additionally, the museum has two dark rooms where visitors can view burial pits containing Roman and Frankish burials, providing a unique insight into the burial practices of these ancient civilizations.
