The Treasury of Saint Catherine - Timeless Splendor, in a New Light! Hidden deep within the crypt of the Saint Catherine Church lies a true gem: the Treasury of Saint Catherine. Here, you will discover a remarkable collection of religious masterpieces, featuring Anglo-Saxon vestments, among the oldest in Europe; early medieval relics, and exquisite silverwork. Many of these treasures have been officially recognized as Flemish Masterpieces due to their exceptional historical, artistic, and scientific value. The museum recieved a refreshing renovation in 2025. The Treasury reopened in a fully renewed setting, enriched with modern multimedia and interactive experiences! What makes this collection so unique? The Codex Eyckensis – The oldest illuminated manuscript in Belgium. Note: The Codex is currently housed at the Maurits Sabbe Library (KU Leuven) for international research. Anglo-Saxon textiles – Among the oldest preserved religious garments in Europe. Medieval manuscripts & relics – Mysterious, fascinating, and above all, rare and unique. Masterpieces by Frederik Malders (1593-1662) and Henri Flémal (1624-1686) – Exquisite craftsmanship in every detail. The Reliquaries of Harlindis and Relindis – A rich legacy of tangible and intangible heritage. All to be discovered in a new setting.
