The Breitbard Hall of Fame, which was previously housed in the San Diego Hall of Champions, is now located at Petco Park. This hall of fame is dedicated to honoring San Diego's sports history and its most notable athletes.
Established in 1953 by Robert Breitbard, the Breitbard Hall of Fame honors athletes who have either excelled in sports in San Diego or are native San Diegans who have excelled in sports elsewhere. This hall of fame serves as a testament to the rich sports history of San Diego.
As of 2021, the Breitbard Hall of Fame has inducted 163 athletes, representing a wide range of 22 sports. These sports include archery, badminton and tennis, baseball, basketball, bowling, boxing, diving and swimming, football, figure skating, golf, hockey, horse racing, marksmanship, motor sports, pole vaulting, sailing, skateboarding, soccer, surfing, track and field, triathlon, and wrestling.
