The Maritime Museum in Dusseldorf (Schifffahrtmuseum Düsseldorf ) is one of the oldest inland navigation museums in Germany and is housed in the castle tower on the banks of the Rhine. The museum features exhibits on the ecology of the Rhine, the history of shipbuilding, and trade and travel on the river. Furthermore the Maritime Museum in Dusseldorf features a multimedia show and historical pictures, films and archives. The exhibition rooms are located from the old basement vault to the upper floor. On the top floor there is a café overlooking the old town, the river and today's shipping.
