The castle is surrounded by a small baroque garden and a large landscape garden that was once located on the former river island of the Drau. Unfortunately, the original garden was destroyed by a flood in 1825. However, the remnants of the garden still provide a picturesque setting for the castle.
In 2001, a unique feature was added to the castle grounds - a maze. This is not just any maze, but the largest garden maze in Austria, with a hedge made up of 3000 hornbeams. This maze provides a fun and engaging activity for visitors of all ages.
The former castle hill has been transformed into a walled animal park, established around 1830 by Knight von Bohr. Today, it is operated as Wildpark Tierpark Rosegg, offering visitors a chance to interact with a variety of animals in a natural setting.
