In 1991, the Sepp-Mahler-Museum was added to the basement of the Leper House by the city of Bad Wurzach. The museum is managed by the Friends and Supporters of the Leper House. It houses three legacies of the Mahler family: Sepp Mahler's painting and literature, and the social history of peat work using the Mahler ancestors as an example from 1817.
The house built by the Mahler family in 1903 on Ravensburger Str. 21 is a significant cultural monument. In 2013, it was included in the list of cultural monuments in Baden-Württemberg. The house, which is well-preserved, provides a vivid depiction of the life of a peat master more than 100 years ago.
