Setesdalsmuseet is a museum situated in the Valle municipality in Agder county. It covers historical sites throughout Setesdal, comprising 17 facilities and 67 antiquarian buildings. In addition to these, there are two newer buildings that house the administration and exhibition spaces. This extensive collection of historical and modern structures provides a comprehensive insight into the region's past and present.

Historical Significance of Setesdalsmuseet

Established in 1938, the first part of Setesdalsmuseet that opened to the public was Nordigard Rygnestad in Rygnestad. The museum features Rygnestadtunet with the renowned Rygnestadloftet and a variety of buildings with diverse functions. These structures date back from the 14th century up to the present, offering a unique journey through time.
