Situated next to the Parish church, the displays at Sidmouth Museum explore the town’s history, from a fishing village to the present day, they include a large collection of Regency and Victoriana items, famous people and royal visitors who either lived in or visited the town, pieces from the extensive lace collection, early paintings, prints and photographs of the area. There is also a great collection of rocks, fossils and footprints some are over 140 million years old illustrating the history of the Jurassic Coast. There are many interactive displays covering topics like the History of Sidmouth, Sidmouth Hotels, Biodiversity in the Sid Vale, The Lace Collection and The Art Collection. The Museum is open from April to end of October each year. Guided Town Walks Monday-Friday at 10:30am, leaving from the Museum.
