The South German Railway Museum, also known as Sรผddeutsches Eisenbahnmuseum Heilbronn or SEH, is a railway museum located in Heilbronn, a city in the state of Baden-Wรผrttemberg in southwestern Germany. The museum was established in 1998 and is dedicated to preserving the history and heritage of railways in the region.
The South German Railway Museum boasts approximately 80 exhibits, including wagons and locomotives. The museum site features a locomotive roundhouse with a functioning turntable and a large wagon shed. Both steam and diesel engines are maintained and serviced here. Museum members are actively involved in restoring locomotives and wagons from the period 1895 to the 1950s.
The South German Railway Museum welcomes visitors on weekends and public holidays from March to October. The museum hosts larger events such as the steam days in May and the steam engine festival in September. The latter event also includes a gathering of I-gauge model railway enthusiasts.
