The Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) is a multi-purpose stadium located in Sydney, Australia. It is primarily used for cricket, Australian football, and rugby. The stadium is home to the New South Wales Blues cricket team and has been hosting international cricket matches since 1882. The first test match at the SCG began on February 17, 1882, between Australia and England.
Over the years, the SCG has undergone several reconfigurations for reasons of comfort and safety. As a result, the seating capacity of the stadium has been reduced to 43,649. Despite the reduction, the stadium continues to host a variety of sports events and has a rich history of memorable matches.
The SCG has a rich history of hosting numerous test matches of the Australian rugby team, particularly against the French team. These matches took place in the years 1951, 1955, 1960, and 1964. These games are remembered for their intense competition and the memorable performances of the players.
