The Taft Museum of Art, located in Cincinnati, Ohio, is a fine art collection housed in a historic house that is over 200 years old. The house, situated at 316 Pike Street, is the oldest domestic wooden structure in downtown Cincinnati and has been home to several prominent figures in the city's history. The Tafts, who lived in the house from 1873 until their deaths in 1931 and 1929, were passionate art collectors. They bequeathed their home and the extensive collection of art it contained to the people of Cincinnati in 1927. The Taft Museum, filled with their collection, opened to the public on November 29, 1932.
