The Taipei Zoo, situated in Wenshan, a southern district of Taipei in Taiwan, spans a total area of approximately 165 hectares. Out of this, 90 hectares are accessible to the public. Specialized Departments in Taipei Zoo
The Taipei Zoo is organized into several specialized departments, providing a diverse range of exhibits for visitors to explore. These include a penguin house, a koala house, an amphibian and reptile house, an insectarium, and a children's zoo. Each of these areas offers unique insights into the lives and behaviors of different animal species.
Giant Pandas at Taipei Zoo
In 2005, the People's Republic of China offered a pair of Giant Pandas (Ailuropoda melanoleuca) to the Taipei Zoo. These pandas arrived at the zoo in December 2008 and quickly became a crowd favorite. Visitors to the zoo can observe these magnificent creatures in their specially designed habitat, providing a unique and memorable experience.
