     Takayama
    The Takayama Jin'ya, located in Hachiken-machi of the city of Takayama in Gifu Prefecture, is a significant historical site. It served as the Daikansho, or the combined residence and office of the shogun's appointed administrator, for Hida Province under the Tokugawa shogunate of Japan from 1692 to 1871. This period is known as the Edo period, a time of relative peace and stability in Japan's history. The Jin'ya has been protected as a National Historic Site since 1929, further emphasizing its historical importance.
