The Kattegat Centre is a large Danish aquarium that houses over 200 species of sea creatures. This includes a variety of fish that inhabit the Kattegat, as well as many tropical species of fish and sharks. Visitors can expect to see creatures such as sharks, penguins, and seals during their visit.
Located in Grenaa, the Kattegat Centre opened its doors in 1993. The centre features a Shark Tank filled with 550,000 liters of tropical seawater, home to large sharks, rays, and other tropical fish. Additionally, the Oceanarium houses fish, sharks, and other animals from the Kattegat, all living in 1.5 million liters of seawater.
In 2022, the Kattegat Centre introduced a large two-story penguin facility. Here, visitors have the unique opportunity to experience donkey penguins up close in a temperature-controlled environment of 7 degrees.
