The Valiant Soldier was an active pub in Buckfastleigh which closed in the late 1960's and never re-opened. Everything was literally left as it was and today, it's open as a museum, giving visitors a glimpse of the past. More recently town museum rooms and an archive have been opened. First World War In 2014 the Valiant Soldier will be mounting an exhibition on behalf of Buckfastleigh, to commemorate those from our town and the surrounding area, who fought or were involved in the First World War.
