Toei Kyoto Studio Park and its collection

Toei Kyoto Studio Park, also known as Usumaza Kyoto Village, is a unique combination of a film set and theme park located in Kyoto, Japan. The park was opened in 1975 and has since been a popular destination for both locals and tourists. It offers a unique experience of stepping into a film set, where numerous period dramas have been filmed.

Edo Period Village Experience

The park is designed to replicate an Edo period village, providing an immersive experience for visitors. It features costumed actors, themed restaurants, and traditional-style buildings. The actors at the park are often real period drama actors, adding to the authenticity of the experience. Visitors are also encouraged to dress in traditional clothes, with the option to rent kimono and period costumes in the park.

Evangelion Kyoto Base

In 2020, the park expanded its attractions with the opening of Evangelion Kyoto Base. This new addition is based on the popular anime franchise Neon Genesis Evangelion. The main attraction is a 15-meter statue of the EVA-01's upper body, where visitors can have their photos taken inside the Entry Plug and on the Evangelion's right hand.
