The Torre das Cabaças, also known as the Clock Tower, is a historical structure that was once part of the Castle of Santarém. It is located in the old parish of Marvila, in the city of Santarém, which is part of the Municipality and District of Santarém in Portugal.
Today, the Torre das Cabaças serves as the "Núcleo Museológico do Tempo", a part of the Municipal Museum of Santarém. It houses a documentary exhibition, providing visitors with a deeper understanding of its history and significance.
The Torre das Cabaças is designed in the Mannerist style, with a square plan and a height of 26.8 meters. It features eight windows and is topped by a metal structure with eight clay pots shaped like gourds. These pots serve as a resonance box for the clock's bell, adding a unique feature to the tower.
