Tregembo Animal Park, located in Wilmington, North Carolina, has a rich history dating back to 1952. Originally known as the Tote-Em-In Zoo, it was founded by George and June Tregembo. The park underwent a name change in 2004, becoming the Tregembo Animal Park we know today.
In 2003, the Tregembo family resumed control of the park's operations. Their goal was to shift the focus of the park towards education. This change in direction reflects their commitment to not only providing an entertaining experience for visitors but also an informative one.
Following the renaming of the park in 2004, the Tregembo family sought to make significant improvements. These included enlarging the park and increasing the size of the animal enclosures. This was part of their ongoing commitment to improve the living conditions of the animals and enhance the visitor experience.
