Trousdale Place, located in Gallatin, Sumner County, Tennessee, is a historic mansion with a rich history. The mansion was built around 1813 by John H. Bowen, a local attorney and member of the United States House of Representatives. This two-story Federal-style brick structure is a testament to the architectural style of the early 19th century.
Today, Trousdale Place shares its grounds with the Sumner County Museum and is open to the public for tours by appointment. Visitors can explore the interior of the house, which is furnished with original Trousdale furniture. The house also contains a small library focused on the Confederacy, offering a unique insight into this period of American history.
