The University Museums at the University of Delaware is a collective term for the university's collections of American art, minerals, and Pre-Columbian ceramics. These collections are open to the public and offer a diverse range of exhibits, from American art to minerals and ceramics from the Pre-Columbian era.
The University Gallery, located in the 'Old College' building on the north campus, houses over 10,000 works. This includes a wide range of vintage and contemporary photographs, as well as notable collections of Pre-Columbian and Native American ceramics, and American prints and drawings from the 19th century to the present.
The Mechanical Hall, renovated in 2004, is home to the Paul R. Jones Collection of African American Art. This collection was donated by Paul R. Jones, an art collector from Atlanta, Georgia. It is considered the most comprehensive collection of 18th, 19th and 20th century African American art.
