The Ünye Museum, also known as the Ünye Living Cultural Heritage Museum, is located in the Hamidiye neighborhood of the city of Ünye. The museum was established in 2013 by transforming the mansion of Captain Server Bey. This historical building offers a unique insight into the cultural heritage of the region.
The Ünye Museum showcases a variety of objects, not only those left by Server Bey, but also items donated by the public and the last resident of the house. The museum's collection has grown significantly over the years, with 783 works registered as of 2016, up from 380 works in 2014. This diverse collection provides a comprehensive view of the region's cultural heritage.
In addition to the indoor exhibits, the garden of the Ünye Museum also features a variety of interesting objects. Among these is the only known remnant from the Kilise Tepe Greek Cemetery, a Greek-inscribed marble tombstone measuring 80x120 cm. This outdoor exhibit adds another dimension to the museum's exploration of the region's cultural heritage.
