Since 1997, the USS Constitution has been moored in the harbor of Boston, specifically in the Charlestown district. This historic ship is open to visitors all year round, offering a unique opportunity to explore a piece of American naval history. The ship is maintained by 60 officers and sailors, all of whom are in active service with the United States Navy. They provide tours, maintain the ship, give lectures for students, and participate in official ceremonies.

The USS Constitution Museum

In addition to the ship itself, there is a private museum on the shore dedicated to the history of the USS Constitution. Independence Day 'Turn Around Cruise'

    Being able to tour the USS Constitution was an amazing thing. Unfortunately the sailors stationed on the ship are there in body but not in spirit. Their Naval knowledge is lacking. In their defense most that we talked to have been in the Navy less than a year. This should be an honored duty station. It obviously is not treated that way. Secondly they sell flags that supposedly are flown on the ship. That is a complete falsehood. I purchased one and watched it being removed from a plastic bag and helped fold it. If it had been flown on the ship it would have been properly folded when it was taken down. The absolutely disgusting part of this is I was given a proclamation with the flag signed by the Commanding Officer that it had been flown on the ship. She is either oblivious as to what is going on or does not go or her rank.
