Venetiaanse Gaanderijen and its collection

Venetiaanse Gaanderijen
Source

At the request of King Leopold II, Henri Maquet designed these Venetian Galleries in 1900. It is a covered connection between the royal chalet and a large salon. When the royal family no longer used its residence by the sea, the city of Ostend received the complex under concession. Today, the Venetian Galleries are an exhibition space.
