The Fundreich Thalmässing, previously known as Vor- und frühgeschichtliches Museum Thalmässing, is an archaeological museum situated in the market town of Thalmässing, within the district of Roth. This museum, supported by the district of Roth, was established in 1983 and is housed in a building that was originally built as a grain store in 1828, but was later used as a town hall.
The museum showcases artifacts from the Stone, Bronze, and Iron Ages up to the time of the Migration Period. The main focus of the museum is on the depiction of the regional development history. This provides visitors with a comprehensive understanding of the historical evolution of the region.
Among the highlights of the museum are a nearly 4,000-year-old crouched burial of a man from the Corded Ware culture, a bronze bull pendant discovered in 1983, and a detailed replica of a Hallstatt period burial chamber with grave goods of a Celtic lady. These exhibits provide a unique insight into the ancient cultures that once inhabited the region.
