The Washington-Wilkes Historical Museum, also referred to as the Washington Historical Museum, is a significant historical building located in Washington, Georgia. This museum is a testament to the rich history of the region and offers visitors a chance to delve into the past.
The museum building was constructed around 1835 by Albert Gallatin Semmes. Interestingly, the land on which it stands was owned by Micajah Williamson, a hero of the American Revolutionary War. This adds a layer of historical significance to the museum.
