The Washington Irving Memorial Park and Arboretum is a public landscape garden and arboretum that covers an area of 32.5 acres. It is located in Bixby, Oklahoma, USA. The park is named in honor of the American writer Washington Irving, who toured the area in October 1832 as part of a federal expedition through the 'American West'.

Ellsworth of Connecticut. The expedition consisted of a circular tour of 350 miles through central Oklahoma that lasted 31 days.
During his time in Oklahoma, Irving had various experiences. These included exploring to see prairie chickens, hunting wolves, and trading with members of the Osage nation. He also met Sam Houston, whom Irving described as a 'well formed fresh looking man'.
