Welios Science Center is a permanent exhibition that focuses on renewable energies. It is designed following the concept of a Science Center, providing an interactive and educational experience for its visitors. The center is dedicated to promoting knowledge and understanding of energy efficiency, energy saving, and particularly renewable energies.
The exhibition at Welios Science Center spans 2,500 m² and presents various topics related to renewable energies. Visitors can learn about water and hydropower, biomass, solar energy, wind power, and geothermal energy in an engaging and playful manner. The center aims to make learning about these complex topics fun and accessible for all ages.
The building housing the Welios Science Center was designed by the Linz architect team, archinauten. It was built using low-energy construction methods, making it the first building of its size to be constructed in this way. This was made possible through a sophisticated energy concept, solid construction, and a highly insulated exterior wall structure.
