The Westfälisches Eisenbahnmuseum was located in the Hansaviertel district of Münster. The museum primarily focused on the theme of railway depots from the 1950s. This gives visitors a unique insight into the history and operations of these depots during this period.
The Westfälisches Eisenbahnmuseum was particularly known for a Köf II, a small locomotive with an oil engine and fluid transmission from 1948. In addition, the museum had an original restored Prussian compartment car from 1927. Regular trips, known as "Hamsterfahrten", were made to Enniger to the Pängel Anton station, which has now been converted into a pub.
