The Westonzoyland Pumping Station Museum of Steam Power and Land Drainage is a unique industrial heritage museum located in Westonzoyland, Somerset. The museum is dedicated to the preservation and display of steam powered machinery, showcasing the industrial history of the area. The building itself is a Grade II listed structure, adding to its historical significance.
The museum is situated in a brick-built pumping station dating back to 1830, the first of its kind on the Somerset Levels, an area known for its susceptibility to flooding. The star attraction of the museum is the 1861 Easton and Amos steam engine and pump. This is the only one of its kind that remains in its original location and is still in working order.
The museum, managed by a charity, is also involved in the restoration and display of a variety of other steam engines and pumps. The steam required for the operation of the moving exhibits is supplied by a Marshall portable boiler.
