The Worms City Museum is housed in the building of the former Andreasstift. This historic building complex, which includes a courtyard, is a protected monument. The museum is managed by the city of Worms in Rhineland-Palatinate.
Permanent Exhibition on the Ground Floor
The museum's permanent exhibition on the ground floor features a model of the city of Worms as it appeared in 1689. This section of the museum also includes the city history department, which provides a comprehensive overview of the city's past.
Archaeological Finds on the First Floor
The first floor of the museum is dedicated to archaeological finds from the Neolithic and Bronze Age, as well as Roman finds. These include altars, tombstones, dishes, and jugs. The extensive collection of Roman glassware is of particular significance.
Exhibitions on the Second Floor
The second floor of the museum, which has been reopened since May 2023, features the exhibitions "Between Roman times and Charlemagne - Franks in Rhineland 500-700 AD" and "Middle Ages and Modern Times". There is also a newly designed room dedicated to "Luther in Worms".
