Zagreb Zoo has 1 rating.
The Zagreb Zoo, located in the Croatian capital, offers a mixed experience for visitors. While it provides an opportunity to see various animal species, the overall impression is somewhat outdated. The zoo houses a diverse collection of animals, including big cats, primates, and birds. However, some enclosures appear small and could benefit from modernization to better reflect current animal welfare standards. Visitors appreciate the park-like setting and the chance to observe animals, but many note that improvements in habitat design and animal enrichment would greatly enhance the experience. The zoo does make efforts in conservation and education, which is commendable. Staff members are generally described as friendly and helpful. While it can be an enjoyable outing, especially for families with children, expectations should be tempered as it may not compare favorably to more modern, larger zoos in other European cities. The zoo's location within Maksimir Park is a plus, allowing for a pleasant day out in nature.
