Crosby is a small city located in Divide County, North Dakota, serving as the county seat. Founded in 1904 during the Great Northern Railway expansion, the city was named after S.A. Crosby, a railroad official.

The community developed as an agricultural center in the northern part of North Dakota, particularly known for its wheat farming heritage. Today, Crosby maintains its rural character while also being part of the region's energy sector due to its proximity to the Bakken oil formation.
